I too, didn't not have a prompt at the bottom of the W-M error screen, but was able to get one by pressing the F2 (cancel) button, on a preceeding screen Open the help file First I read the help file. hmm. That's pretty much the gist of it.

After the update, it changed the "System Model" DMI string from "Qosmio G35" to "Portable PC." Im sure you all know what that means - Toshiba Recovery DVDs became useless. have a peek here It seems is that the DMI string is different and you need to run a program to change this string.

I tried all the DMI updates to no avail (no floppy drive, so I was trying bootable USBs and CDS...nothing worked).

The one I posted is older and straight from the tech "Atlas" site. I just don't know how to open the prompt when all I get is the grey window with no option to write anything. Remake your Recovery DVD #1 with UltraISO (or w/e) and test it out. My motherboard on my toshiba Satellite P100 died after the warrently was out....
