I've ruled out the poor media. http://u2commerce.com/tracking-error/tracking-error-vs-tracking-risk.html
I reseated all the IDE cables and made certain that the writer was also the only device on the IDE channel. While burning a CD with Nero, the buring process stops with a failure after 70% of activity. The discs I'm using, I've used before and never had any problem with them. I still suspect the lens, but intermittent failure is always a bitch to track down a cause for.
Not sure what happened - the size of the files had previously been about 4.3GB, but they add up to about 5.6GB. Trying to back up my DVD movies again, using DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter and RipIt4Me, to no avail, I keep getting the same error message during the burning process. I had no idea it was there lol I'll update Nero, altho I've never had a problem before with it :) Sorry to sound stupid again, but what exactly is DMA? That's after changing the settings to Extended Play or SUper Long Play and reducing the resolution settings from 720X480 to 352X480 and/or 352X240. So, I'm making a mix CD, but when I try, the disc checking goes fine and the 'used read buffer' gets to 100%, but when the 'process status' reaches about 5%, From checking out other posts, I've learned that this is a fairly generic error, having to do with the laser not finding the track on the DVD-R.
Thanks for the tip on the serial number. http://www.cdrlabs.com/forums/gsa-4040b-focus-tracking-error-t12478.html I bought the burner back to the place of purchase, they tested it and said there was nothing wrong with it. follow this guide by Alkohol and this will solve your problem: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/293994http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/293994 welcome to Afterdawn! use Nero InfoTool to find out what make and model your burner is. Bye. > > > > > > Ciao. If I try to burn anyway, when I get to the final page, it says Your project currently exceeds the capacity of a normal DVD . . .
Try using a newer version of Nero as it activates buffer under-run protection initially. Any idea how to set things back (I might have inadvertantly set somthing wrong which I do not remeber)? I have tried to do a burn using Simulation and this also fails with the same error. I'm a newbie, but it seems too coincidental that all the discs would have a defect in the same spot.
I noticed today when I was re-installing my burner that there was a few of them there. You can only upload a photo (png, jpg, jpeg) or video (3gp, 3gpp, mp4, mov, avi, mpg, mpeg, rm). Try reducing project size manually. you can get these at popular stores. When I add the Video Files to Nero, I am unable to start the Burn Process because I get an error message saying the size of the project won't fit on All of a sudden, without rhyme, reason or warning I cannot burn any DVD-R's and Nero is giving me a Focus or Tracking Error.
